Dodgers Win A Marathon In Los Angeles

Updated: Jan 10, 2019

In one of the longest games in NLCS history, the Los Angeles Dodgers were able to pull off a walk off win in the 13th inning. The Dodgers opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning with a Brian Dozier sinlge to score Chris Taylor from second.

The Brewers were dealt a tough blow just one inning later when Starter Gio Gonzalez appeared to twist his ankle, forcing him to leave the game. Queue the bullpen once again *swoons*. Freddy Peralta got things started with three innings of shutout ball, followed by two from Corbin Burnes, one from Joakim Soria, one from Josh Hader, one from Corey Knebel, and a one run outing in 3.2 innings from Junior Guerra.

The Brewers scored their only run on a fifth inning rally Domingo Santana doubled in Orlando Arcia. The lack of offence broke the two game home run streak from Arcia. In bigger news, Yelich was terrible again, going 1-5 on the night, dropping his Postseason average to .188. If he can't figure it out in this series, then it may be a serious factor in the Brewers losing this series.is first three innings, shutting down the Dodgers in a spot he never thought he'd be in.

Extra Innings

Pardon my rant for a second, but I am sick and tired of Manny Machado's antics in this league. It was only 2014 when he incited multiple brawls against the Athletics, one for throwing his helmet at third baseman Josh Donaldson when he was tagged out, and then one the next game, when he threw his bat in the direction of veteran Alberto Callaspo. It was only a year later when he incited a meaningless brawl againt the late Yordano Ventura (talk about a difference in weight class.)

Fast forward to last night, Machado is lazily jogging out ground balls that he probably could've beat out. On top of that, on one of those lazy ground balls, Machado blatantly kicked out the base foot of Milwaukee first baseman Jesus Aguilar. It was a gutless, classless move from a guy who should be better than this by now. For a guy who will be looking for big money in a long term deal, he should probably be showing his character in a more positive light. It physically pained me to see the same asshole cross the plate with the winning run.

Game five goes today at 5:05 EST. with Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw going up against Wade Miley for the Brewers.
